Laura was once a rising star of intellectual might within the Lorekeepers. She was one of the early organizers and leaders during the formation and consolidation of the Milwaukee branch. Her main academic focus was on curating and preserving the American Geographic Society collection. While much of that collection deals with places and countries far afield that few people care about anymore, it does have a volume of information on local Wisconsin and Milwaukee geography and history. She is a rich source for local knowledge but not much of it is of practical modern use. She can tell you about the warehouse districts, the governmental buildings etc, but her information dates mostly to 1900 or earlier, meaning that her information is mostly of negligible relevance. She does have a number of very detailed and accurate (if dated) maps of city streets, elevation, water sources and other past ecological features.
Soon after the foundation of the Lorekeepers, their focus turned to electronics and internet technologies. Laura had little aptitude for such things and zero interest as a result her status and influence within the group plummeted quickly. These days she lives in one of the smallest, most sequestered sections of Curtin hall. She lives among most of the AGS collection, piled around her quarters haphazardly. Various leaks in the plumbing and windows are accelerating the decay of her collection, and this loss of knowledge pains her greatly. She is happy to share her information for smart, enterprising young people but she will never expose her feelings about it or even crack a smile. She is a stern and matronly librarian type who had her dreams crushed long ago and so is not likely to encourage or even acknowledge others' goals or dreams.
